Misconceptions about snakes (things everybody thinks of snakes)

It's natural for a living thing to be misunderstood. Even easier for something that doesn't talk and uses mainly one sound to "communicate". Snakes are like the silent humans, they stay quiet when everything is fine, but the moment there is something they don't like, they will let you know.
This is the first thing people think when they hear the word snake. Hissing. People think that when snakes hiss, it means that they want to attack. Wrong. Them hissing, is something they do when they are afraid. What other way are they going to say "Hey, stop doind that, I'm afraid"?.They create a sound to fend of predators. Some even, like the King cobra emits a very low-pitched growl of unknown purpose.
Another misconception about snakes, are that the more colourful they are, the more venom they have. Wrong again. Venom differs from snake types, not colour types. Lets look at an example, I have a Banana ball python. He is very colourful, but he is not venomous. Since he is a ball python and ball pythons are non-venomous snake species, they do not have venom. Even if they were to bite you, they would not let out venom.

I'm sure there are more misconceptions, but I couldn't think of more, so if you have any beliefs on snakes, please do send me an e-mail or a chat and I will include more of those.
Have a great morning, afternoon or evening wherever you are in the world!
